A pristine, concentrated vintage sees The Landau exude aromas of dried purple florals, violet and lavender, with plum, sage, blackberry, cola, iodine and olive flavours, encircled by bright acidity. The balance of the wine is metronomic, a trend of Mickey Downer's deft touch in the winery, but also the care and intentional investment into the estate vines. The tannins apply themselves to fruit like fine needlepoint, there, but not obtrusively so, knitting everything together with grace and brilliance.
